School's IN

So I'm finally getting back to working on my blog. Meagan started school last week and is having a blast in 1st grade! :-)
Meagan's first day of 1st grade
Week 1 down, ALL greens for Meagan!

Today was Brodie's first day of Pre-K and he LOVED it! He's in class with one of my two best friends' son, Tyler. Brodie was SUPER DUPER excited about that. We got to the school kinda early and took lots of pictures with Brodie and I, and Brodie and Tyler, and Brodie and his teachers. Here's just a glimpse into his first day. :-)

Meagan getting ready for her 2nd week of school....
Excited for school to start!

Best Friends with our boys :-)

Already playing and having fun.... "Bye Mommy!"

Tissues leading the way to the crying corner

After his first day. He  LOVED school!

So Brodie was so excited after his bookbag was unpacked he said "Bye Mommy" and was done with me being there... he was so excited! So mommy left.... and followed the tissues down the hall and to the crying corner. They had scones, coffee, and hot cocco for the moms and dads. :-) I had a chocolate chip scone and some hot chocolate. :-) YUM! I picked up Brodie from carline and he was sooo excited he had such an awesome day, and talked about playing with Tyler and a "kissing raccoon?" lol From what I gathered it was a book about a raccoon who just started school also and kissed his mom when she left and then when she came back. Sounded like a cute story.
After we got home it was nap time for the boys... they weren't too thrilled about that, but both took naps. Meagan started having homework today. She's now doing spelling! WOW! lol Tonight's homework, writing sentences with 5 of her spelling words. I wish I could remember having these simple spelling words! "log, bog, dog, hog, fog, clog, frog, smog, and soggy" lol I love how the last one seems SO random! lol but we had fun coming up with sentences. "I have a dog." "I see the hog." "There is a log in the yard." "There is a clog in my straw." "I do not like soggy cereal." She came up with all the sentences herself, I was so proud. :-)
The boys were in bed by 8:30 and asleep by 9. Meagan was allowed to stay awake until 9:30 and read the first chapter of the first book of the Junie B Jones series. "Junie B Jones and the Stupid Smelly Bus" I'm not particularly fond of the word "stupid" for her, but we did talk about the fact that we don't use that word and it's not a nice word to say. Casey helped her read the first chapter and she did a pretty good job. :-) She did need some help here and there.... well alot, but it is a first/second grade level reading book and she just started 1st grade. She can't get better without learning new words right? We'd had enough of the small simple books. "There is a book, there is a bag, see the book, see the bag, put the book in the bag, the end." BORING lol She loves her new books. Now here I sit with PEACE AND QUIET all around... and LOVE it! Tomorrow Andrew starts Pre-K3.... Not looking forward to his first day... Mommy's really going to need the crying corner tomorrow! But after he gets there and is having fun, and we get into the swing of things I'm really going to enjoy having 3 days with no kids for a couple of hours at a time.:-) So for now I'm heading to bed to get some sleep before a new day!

2 Months Down, and Keeping On....

Ok so as of now Shawn's been gone for 2 months. I've had my ups and I've had my fair share of my downs too. I've been super busy lately, just went to the beach in mid June, and then we had VBS which was a super crazi week, and staying busy, busy, busy! But after Shawn's fussing like crazi, I'm going to start keeping up with my blog again. No I'm not going to even attempt to catch up the last few weeks, but I will start with today. Today was a decent day, the kids behaved well this morning, and we just mostly stayed home this morning and did what we had to do... James came over about 3 and we got ready to go. Fort Gordon was having a carnival/fireworks show tonight and we decided to go. I got the kids dressed and ready, and did Meagan's hair really cute...

 She loved the headband :-)
Note the "red white and blue" ribbons in her hair!

Before leaving the house we checked the mail, and Meagan had a package. About a month ago I signed her up for this program called Princess Fairy Godmother. It's a Christian based program for girls of all ages up through age 14. When you sign up, you give them your childs name, birthdate, address, clothing sizes, and intrests, and then they send her stuff a couple times a year and including special holidays like birthdays, Christmas, ect.... and its all free! Well her first package came today. I had not told her about it previously, so I opened it with her and this is what we found:
 Modling her new Tinkerbell PJs!
 Her princess "diary"
And this letter....  Which I realize is upside down, but this is what it says:

"Hello My Little Princess,
I am so happy to meet you! I hope you like your gifts. Remember to always be a good little princess and listen to your mommy. I'll be watchin over you and with you in your dreams. You can write me anytime. Dream Big and Laugh Often!
With Sugar and Lollipops,
Your Fairy Godmother"

Meagan LOVED it! I played it off like I had no idea where it came from to which Meagan responded "Mama I know where it came from" and when I asked where, she said "it's from my mommy in heaven" :-) I almost cried. She needed something like this, and God knew just how to make it 10x more special for her, and that was to make it seem like it was coming from her mommy in heaven. :-) Btw, for any of you that are reading this that know a little girl who would benifit from a program like this, the website is http://www.princessfairygodmother.org . I can already tell that this has made her day and is sooo special to her...

We got to Fort Gordon around 5:30 and immediately realized the rides were SUPER DUPER expesive, but decided to let the kids ride a few things anyways.... The first ride they chose to ride was the slide! :-)
All three of them getting ready for the slide... But as you can see, Meagan and Brodie are sitting and Andrew is standing, trying to decide if this is what he really wants to do... lol
Andrew ended up changing his mind, so down the steps he came. Meagan and Brodie had fun on the slide though, until they got to the bottom........... You see, when they put the slide together today, they didn't put it together correctly and some of the pieces at the bottom were overlaped in the wrong way. When Meagan got to the bottom, it took the sack cloth from underneath her, and caught her foot, and sliced her big toe open.....
This was taken after alot of clean up..... and we were having to change the bandaids cause it was still bleeding a little from her walking on it. Meagan cried on and off about it for a little while, it was very painful, and it didn't help that everytime she stepped it hurt her foot. But she decided to carry on... Next Meagan decided she was going to take a small break so she sat out while the boys rode the swings.....
Andrew waiting for it to start
 Brodie waiting...
And they both had a blast! Andrew really enjoyed it and giggled on it alot. :-) He even sat still the whole time! He was having a blast! As soon as the ride stopped as the lady was unbuckling him he said "I wanna do it AGAIN mommy!" So for their next ride we chose a different set of swings and Meagan, Brodie, and Andrew all rode it... and James decided to ride too!
The kids riding on the swings....
James... he seems to be enjoying this too much! lol
I got a video of them on the swings, I'll have to upload it to facebook later. lol After that we were out of tickets and decided to walk back to the truck. I had recently bought a bowling set for the kids off of an online yard sale thing and had not taken it out of the back of the truck, so I let the kids play with that!
Uncle J playing with the kids
Brodie "bowling" lol looked more like baseball! lol
The knocked down pins... James knocked them all down with one shot! lol
 James's victory celebration
Andrew running to the pins with his bowling ball.. lol
Meagan helping to re-set them back up.
Meagan overall still had a blast tonight even with the hurt toe... Later Katie, John (her boyfriend), and Tyler (her son) showed up, and Katie brought me some bandaids so I could change the ones on Meagan's toe... see picture of her toe above..... and before long it was time for the fireworks....
Katie and the 4 kids watching the fireworks...

These are just a few of the many pictures I took. I love watching the fireworks, but tonight it was a little sad. Shawn and my first kiss was after our first (un)official date to the fireworks on the 4th of July in 09, and it only made me miss him that much more tonight... We finally got home around midnight, and so I told Meagan to come and let me clean her toe up really good before she went to bed...

After very minimal cleaning... it actually looks alot worse her than it was... it appears that the cut goes all the way down on those sides, but it doesn't that's just dried blood...
Meagan's toe after complete clean up, adding bag-balm (Shawn's mircale working cream), and a bandaid, then I LOOSELY wraped it with some medical tape to keep the dirt out. Tomorrow I'm going to look at it really good, and hopefully it will show signs of improvement. If not we'll be making our way to the doctor... But for now it's time for bed...
Goodnight to everyone, have a good rest of the day babi, and STAY SAFE! I love you!!!!

Tuesday-Friday... and One more week to catch up. lol

Ok, So I know I've been bad and I haven't posted in FOREVER, but I am finally posting again... To be able to catch up quickly, I'll only give short posts for each day, and of course each "picture of the day." Lets start from where I left off last week....

Tuesday
Ok so Tuesday was a normal day just like any other, I woke up to my doorbell ringing and the man who was coming to fix my porch. Him and another guy showed up about 830. I knew they were coming, I just didn't realize they were coming so early. So... Tuesday's picture of the day is:
The porch! It is actually starting to look good! Well good other than the fact that the boards are 2 different colors... This was taken late Tuesday...

Wednesday
Last Wednesday the porch guys came and worked on the porch again... same ol' same ol' but... the kids decided they were going to try to sneak out of the house. Well they got caught, and got in trouble. The boys were in their room and Meagan was in hers... I was talking to Meagan when I saw Andrew leave the room. So after I finished talking to Meagan about 60 seconds later I go to find Andrew.... And this is what I found......

needless to say we had a hair emergency on our hands.... and it wasn't pretty... but... I did finally get it fixed, and before church... here are the after pictures

yea you can kind of still see the marks, but hey... at least he did it AFTER the wedding, and at least he's a boy so I was able to just cut it all off. I give it 2 weeks tops and then another buzz and it will all be one length. A couple people at church noted that it was kinda like a reverse mohawk... lol cute....

Thursday
Thursday they were STILL working on the porch but I was determined to not stay home all day that day. BUT... that didn't work out too well for me. lol So home I stayed... At naptime, I told the kids to go upstairs and get in the bed. Meagan and Brodie fell asleep quickly and then after fighting with Andrew for FOREVER I go back upstairs to say forget it just get up and get down stairs... I found this....
curled up on the floor with a sheet! lol wow. lol and no shirt either... i wonder about him sometimes, but it's true what they say.... kids can sleep ANYWHERE. lol Other than that Thursday was rather un-eventful. lol We did work on some care packages for Shawn, but those are still top secret! ;-)

Friday
So Friday the kids and I had plans to go visit Casey and the twins and go swimming with them... UNTIL it decided to rain.... bummer! So we went to Chuck-E-Cheese instead! :-)
Andrew with Chuck-E and theres Wayland!
Trying to get a group photo of my kids... not working yet.....
and then Brodie did something to Andrew.. note the evil eyes... So gave up on that...
Casey and myself... I love that girl!
 Doesn't Brodie look handsome?
And even though you can see the "haircut" he gave himself still cute....!!
And my Meagan.. Love this one!

Sooo I know it's not 100% updated, but it's a start. I'll hopefully have it completely updated by tomorrow... with more details :-) <3

I love you babi! Stay Safe!
